About the program
Established in 1992, the Excellence Program is the Technion’s flagship track for its most exceptional undergraduates. Students build a personalized curriculum across faculties, join research groups from their very first year, and pursue advanced coursework without prerequisite restrictions. Admission is highly selective, prioritizing originality, intellectual curiosity, and scientific motivation.
In 2025, Decart became the program’s founding partner, and it was renamed the Technion–Decart Excellence Program. The partnership is personal: Decart’s founder and CEO, Dr. Dean Leitersdorf, is a graduate of the program, along with several other members of the Decart team. Decart’s multi-year pledge supports the program’s activities and reflects a shared goal: positioning Israel at the forefront of global AI innovation.
